Laptop for Teavolutionary

Greetings Tribe,
My Macbook Pro died this week. I am in desperate need of a new (used) one. I need a laptop for running my teahouse, coordinating my mobile events, to dj with and generally concoct new schemes to bless-up the universe. I am so overwhelmed with work at the moment and not having a functioning laptop is extremely debilitating.
I am hoping to buy one off craigslist for $500-1000. I’m also open to suggestions for where/how to purchase one.
